This 2026 summer comes out with a lot of amazing movies, ranging from scary to action-packed, and even playful. Here are 9 movies that are soon to be released during the summer.
Backrooms (May 29)
The Backrooms film is inspired by an internet urban legend from 2019. The Backrooms film follows a therapist that realizes her patient has disappeared into a different dimension also known as the ‘backrooms’. She tries her best to find him in a completely new place. Finn Bennett (Bobby) and Lukita Maxwell (Kat) both star in the Backrooms film. (Horror/Sci-fi).
Scary Movie 6 (June 5)
Scary Movie 6 is a part of the Scary Movie francese. The original stars from the first five scary movies will return. Some of those stars include Marlon Wayans (Shorty), Shawn Wayans (Ray), and Lochlyn Munro (Greg Phillippe). The film will tell the story of these characters having to once again face the masked killer. (Horror/Comedy).
Toy Story 5 (June 19)
The new Toy Story 5 movie will continue the Toy Story franchise. It will show the story of all of Bonnie’s toys trying to compete with a new toy that she has recently fallen in love with, the tablet. (Comedy/Adventure).
Supergirl (June 26)
The Supergirl film is inspired by the DC comics and follows the story of Zara Zor-El who is the cousin of superman. Zara Zor-El is played by Milly Alcok. (Sci-fi/Action).
Enola Holmes 3 (July 1)
The Enola Holmes film is the 3rd film of the Enola Holmes franchise. Millie Bobby Brown (Enola Holmes) and Louis Partridge (Tewkesbury) star in this film. This film follows the story of Enola Holmes who is a detective and whose brother is the iconic Sherlock Holmes. She comes into contact with her most dangerous and risky case. (Mystery/Crime).
Minions and Monsters (July 1)
The Minions and Monsters film follows the minions as they try to create a monster movie in Hollywood. They try to find actual monsters that can star in their film. This will be the 7th movie in the Despicable Me franchise. (Comedy/Adventure).
Moana: Live Action (July 10)
The Moana live action film shows the story of the original animated film with live actors. Moana decides to leave her island in hopes of a fun adventure but is met by many different obstacles. Dwayne Johnson (Maui), Catherine Laga’aia (Moana) both star in this film as the main characters. (Adventure/Musical).
The Odyssey (July 17)
This film follows Odysseus as he travels home after the Trojan War. He encounters many things such as Sirens, and Calypso. This film includes many amazing stars such as Zendeya (Athena), Tom Holland (Telemachus), Matt Deman (Odysseus), and Robert Pattinson (Antinous). (Action/Fantasy).
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31)
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be the 4th Spider man standalone film with Tom Holland starring as Spider Man/ Peter Parker. This film will show Peter Parker struggling with being Spider Man after all of his friends forgot who he was. He will face the most powerful threat he has ever faced. Some people that star in this film include Zendaya (Mj), Jacob Batalon (Ned), and Micheal Mando (Scorpion). (Adventure/Sci-fi).
