Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc

Highly acclaimed manga series, Chainsaw Man, got lots of praise for its first season released two years ago and now will be getting a movie adaptation.

Picking up immediately after the first season, the movie will introduce another Devil-human hybrid and will explore Denji's dynamic with Makima, while also introducing Reze as another love interest.

The show follows the main character Denji, who is a rare Devil-human hybrid that took a job killing devils. He eventually learns about the Gun Devil, which is infamous for killing millions around the world, and takes the challenge.

The first season of Chainsaw Man was very well received, however, only 12 episodes left fans wanting more. Especially because, at the end of the final episode, fans who have read the book recognized Reze, which is the going to be the main antagonist on the movie.

The trailer shows different scenes from the manga, specifically when they first met and when they went to school, with flashes of Denji chopped into pieces sitting in a pool of blood. Although this is just the teaser trailer, it already foreshadows how the relationship between Reze and Denji isn't going to end well.

MAPPA is an animation studio with excellent manga adaptations such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, Yuri on Ice and Banana Fish.

The movie will be in theaters later this year. It will have all the same voice actors as the show, with Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, and Reina Ueda as Reze.
