Signing up for AP exams
The deadline to sign up for your AP exams is October 31, 2022! Go to www.myschoolbucks.com to sign up.
AP tests are held near the end of the school year, in early May. They cover all of the material learned throughout the school year in one big test.
It costs $100 to take your AP exam, however financial aid is available for those who need it. If you qualify, the cost can be reduced to $15.
If you are already signed up for a free or reduced lunch on My School Bucks, then you will automatically get the reduced price test. If not, you will need to sign up for it on this application, and once it’s approved, your test price will also change.
Benefits of taking the AP exam
Even though the idea of taking a long test might sound tedious, there are benefits to taking the exam for your AP course, such as getting college credit!
The tests are graded on a scale of 1 to 5. If you pass, you receive college credit for that course meaning you don’t have to take it again in college!
So what would be considered a passing grade?
Well, it depends. Every school differs in what their requirements are. For example, some may accept a score of 3 while others may require you to score a 4 or 5 in order to get credit.
Research some of the colleges that you are considering to see what they accept! It is a great way to save you time and money in the future.
