For today’s article I will be answering some of your personal questions from the Google Form that was available on campus. I will be answering a minimum of three for each article in the next few weeks. Keep sending them out! They help me learn too!
Student Question #1 – What’s campus life like?
Campus life is a lot different from high school campus life. This topic has always interested me, and now that I have several friends attending college, I asked them this question. In college, you are there for your classes, and then you leave. There isn’t really a social part anymore, unless you stay in a dorm somewhere. At community college, according to six of my friends, their answer is the same. You don’t have friends. Sure, some of your closest friends may attend the same college as you, but you are all on a different schedule. You may talk to people in your classes, but other than that, there’s nothing to it. You get in and get out.
Student Question #2 – Is college worth it?
The answer is yes. With college comes more opportunities. A degree gives you more job opportunities, higher pay opportunities, and much more. Statistics show that 25 percent of people with degrees have more success in finding a job compared to those without a degree. Depending on your major, job opportunities differ. However, people tend to hire mostly anyone with a college degree. It shows them you are committed and willing to work. With more school experience will come more opportunities, beyond hourly work such as McDonalds.
Student Question #3 – How do you get an academic scholarship?
Scholarships actually aren’t as hard to get as you might think! There is even a scholarship out there for left handed people! If you search up a scholarship that relates to yourself, click the link and apply…chances are they might reply to your application. You can apply to as many scholarships as you want, sort of like applying for colleges.
