Why Live In The US

Is the United States as good as it appears?

A good thing about living in the United States is its cultural diversity. Many people from all over the world live in the US. 60.1% of the population in the US is white, while 18.5% is Hispanic, and 12.2% is Black, and 5.6% is Asian, while the other 3.7 % are from different races, and descents. This is a lot of diversity compared to Argentina; 97.2% of Argentina's population is European or Mestizo, while 2.7% is Amerdinian and 0.4% is African. This diversity in the US is good because it ensures and exposes us to more than one type of viewpoint, religion, language, culture, and even cuisine.

The economy of the US is one of the biggest and greatest in the world. The US is fueled with an abundant supply of natural resources, and a huge amount of productivity. On top of this, it has a well developed infrastructure. A well developed infrastructure has to have good communication, irrigation, transportation, and most importantly, power. All this contributes to America having the highest Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is $19.485 trillion, compared to China in second place with $12.238 trillion, this shows how good America’s economy is.

The US is huge, a little over 3 million miles. A lot of people enjoy the US because of its biome diversity . The US has all 6 major biomes, which are the Tundra, Coniferous forest ,  Prairie, Deciduous forest, Desert , and Tropical rainforest. of its many biomes, from desert to the tundra, and nearly everything in between.

Most importantly, the US has freedom. For example, freedom of speech and political freedom. Many countries around the world do not have this right; in some countries if you oppose the government, you might get fined ,sent to prison,or even sent to a labor camp.

All this might seem good, but in the US there is a lot of political division. Since there are only 2 major parties, it gives people only 2 options; either being a republican, or a democrat. The Republican Party supports right learning ideas of conservatism, social conservatism, and economic libertarianism.  Democracy  supports liberal and  progressive ideological values. Some people might not be too keen to support the other party, which causes a problem in the US. The major issues between these 2 major  parties are  local and humanitarian concerns, states’ rights, agrarian interests, and democratic procedures.

Another major issue in the US is racism.  Racism has been embedded in the social and political fabric since the beginning of the nation. There have been major events to reduce racism in the US, for example the civil rights movement led by Martin Luther King . There have also been events that shocked the world and exposed racism , for example the death of George Floyd.  To this day, it is still a problem that needs to be resolved.
