Is Patrick Mahomes the New GOAT?

Is Patrick Mahomes the new GOAT of American Football? Patrick Mahomes just reeled in his third Super Bowl victory in five years in a nail biter against the San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes has played a total of 18 games in the postseason, with 15 wins (more than NFL legend Peyton Manning) and has passed 41 touchdowns, which places Mahomes at 5th all time in that stat bracket at only 28 years old.

Mahomes has not only won three Super Bowls, he has the record for being the only quarterback to lead three 10+ point comebacks in each Super Bowl, adding to Mahomes’s dominance on the biggest stage in American sports.

What sticks Mahomes out from his competition is his play making ability. Mahomes is known as a true gunslinger, and he isn’t afraid to throw the ball into dangerous spots for a high reward play, with many highlights of his coming from rolling out of the pocket, and launching the ball downfield, like he did just last Sunday in the Super Bowl when he dropped a dime to Mecole Hardman for 52 yards.

The unanimous GOAT of the NFL currently is 7x Super Bowl Champion, 5x Super Bowl MVP, 5x NFL MVP, and 15x Pro Bowler, Tom Brady. Brady is without a doubt the GOAT of the NFL, but how far is Mahomes from equalling Brady’s legacy, or even surpassing him? Patrick Mahomes is only 28 years old, and with his all-time legend coach Andy Reid, who knows what Patrick Mahomes can achieve by the end of his career, he might even end as the new GOAT of American Football.
