NationWide Alert?

Every single cellular device in the nation will be notified of an alert. Phones will not be the only things being alerted, every single TV and radio will be alerted. Is there something going on in America that requires the whole nation to be alerted?

FEMA, otherwise known as the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the FCC, the Federal Communication Commission, will be conducting a nationwide test that will be happening on October 4th, 2023.

You’re probably asking, “Now what is this test for?” FEMA says the test is to reach millions of communication devices like phones, TVs, radios, etc.,  to make sure that information can be rapidly spread across the entire country to as many people as possible.

Any device within range of a cell phone tower will be alerted using the Wireless Emergency Alerts and the Emergency Alert System (EAS). You will be alerted with an audible alarm along with a notification saying "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System.  No action is needed.” October 4th won’t be the only day for the test, there will be a backup test on October 11, 2023 in case you weren’t able to get notified, or it just didn’t work at all.

You will be notified only one time during the test and you will not be able to opt out of it nor will you be able to turn it off. Any phones that are set in Spanish will be getting the message in Spanish.

Now, is there something you should be worrying about? There is absolutely nothing to worry about because this is all just a test and will not affect anyone in any way but make sure that the system will work.
