Thursday, January 30th, the middle school basketball team went head to head against Ensign. Ensign had recently lost one of their students in the plane crash involving Kobe Bryant, Allyssa Altobelli. To honor her, Ensign started off the game by taking a five second violation, as 5 was Altobelli’s number.
Going into the game, the Costa Mesa team was already missing two of their most vital players, and was going up against one of the top teams. Unluckily, Ensign defeated Costa Mesa by 30 points.
