Lamine Yamal has become La Liga’s youngest player this year signing his new contract with Barcelona FC with a maximum length of 3 years. With this deal, it sparks questions about his contract with the Spanish team and what his success will look like as he continues in Barcelona.
Yamal, at the age of 15 made his debut for Barcelona F.C. in La Liga during a match between Barcelona and Betis. Before then, Yamal played with Barcelona from the age of seven, moving up the ranks playing in the UEFA League.
Yamal signed his contract with Barcelona professionally in April 2023, and made his debut with the Spanish team on April 29th, becoming the youngest player to appear for Barcelona’s first team.
With Yamal signing his extended contract keeping him with Barca until 2026, his contract consists of $1.05 billion euros, meaning he is yet again one of the youngest players in La Liga being paid that much for his age.
Many question if Yamal will become the next Golden Boy, which is an award given to the youngest male football player in Europe who does an outstanding and impressive job during the calendar year. Although this award is large, his career professionally is still starting out, but he's doing an impressive job with his talent at such a young age.
