Holiday Movie Review

Your favorite reviewers are back, and since we reviewed holiday drinks, we're ready to review holiday movies.

The first movie we watched was A Charlie Brown Christmas. This short film follows Charlie, a boy who's searching for the true meaning of Christmas. Even with all the tedious wacky challenges in his way, like finding the perfect tree or directing the Christmas pageant, this story is a heartwarming reminder of not prioritizing gifts over the importance of being together.

Frida and Wyatt have spoken, and both give a Charlie Brown Christmas a 10/10.

The second movie we watched was Elf, a cult classic with a humorous storyline. The story follows Buddy the Elf in search for his father in a mystical place, New York City. Buddy finds himself in new, unpredictable situations, exploring a new place that is drastically different from the North Pole. Although this movie has held its Christmas classic reputation, Wyatt and Frida feel that the plot was subpar. Going in with high expectations, this movie did not pass further than a 7/10.

The third movie going through Wyatt and Frida’s harsh judgement was The Grinch, and it did not disappoint. The Grinch is a green guy who lives on top of a hill who has isolated himself from the rest of Whoville because of his hate for Christmas. His hate for Christmas leads him to his mischievous plan of stealing Christmas from the holly jolly people in Whoville. Wyatt and Frida absolutely adore this movie and give it a 10/10.

The fourth movie facing our wrath is The Holiday. The Holiday follows two girls switching homes to escape their tragic love lives, and in the end, they open up their hearts, heal, and fall in love with somebody new. Wyatt and Frida both thoroughly enjoyed this movie, however give it an 8.5/10 because it’s not directly a Christmas movie, but a movie that just so happens to be around the holiday season.
