On February 13, 2026, Sony Pictures is releasing the animated film GOAT. A sports-inspired movie that focuses on determination and confidence. This movie is inspired by Stephen Curry’s journey to become an NBA basketball player.
After years of being overlooked and an underdog, the main character tries to find self-confidence. This movie includes the actor Caleb McLaughlin, who plays the main character, Will Harris. Will Harris is a small goat with big dreams of playing a professional game called “Roarball.”
Roarball is a high-intensity game dominated by the fastest, strongest, and fiercest animals in the world. Because Will is small, many doubt his abilities and question whether he belongs on the court. Despite this, Will is determined to prove that “smalls can ball.”
The main antagonist of the movie is Mane Attraction, voiced by Aaron Pierre. Mane Attraction serves as a powerful rival for Will.
The directors of this movie are Tyree Dilihay and Adam Rosette. Some of the cast members you might know are Stephen Curry (Lenny Wilson) and A. Graiffe, who is one of the teammates. David Harbour (Archie Everhadt), Jelly Roll (Grizz), Eduardo Franco (Daryl), Bobby Lee (Rusty), and even more amazing actors.
Fun fact: Sony Pictures also made the 2 hit movies, K-pop Demon Hunters and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The Hitching Post interviewed basketball player Issac Leiva to see what his opinion is. Here’s what he had to say. “I think it’s really cool, especially the animations of the movie.”
Isaac went on, “Based on the movie trailer, I would rate the movie an eight out of ten because I feel like they could have made the plot in the movie a bit better. I would still watch the movie, though, with some friends. I do think it’s worth watching, especially for kids and teens that are like 15 and older.”
This movie overall is telling people no matter how tall or short you are, you are able to do what you desire, as long as you pour your heart into it.
