CMHS Hosts Band Competition

On Saturday, October 9th, Costa Mesa High School is hosting the 34th Annual South Coast Invitational, a CSBC (California State Band Championship) Marching Band tournament.

This will be the fourth year that CMHS has hosted this event. It will be held at our very own Mustang Field.

18 other school marching bands from all around Southern California will be participating at this tournament, with the first band (Mater Dei High School) performing at 10:00 am, and the last band (University High School) performing at 3:37 pm.

CMHS performs at exactly 3:07 pm, so make sure to be there to support our marching band and color guard!

Tickets cost $10 for general admission, $7 for senior/military, $5 for students, and are free for kids 5 years-old and younger.

Spectators are asked to park at Orange Coast College. A couple of events at the OC Fairgrounds are being held the same day, so parking at the Fairgrounds will not be offered.

The theme of our marching band and color guard show is “Joyous.” The songs that will be played are from famous artists such as Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, and Beethoven.

Hope to see you there!
