Plans for OC Fairground To Become Huge COVID Vaccination Site

With the new vaccine distribution center at Disneyland and COVID case numbers rapidly increasing, Orange County residents were quick to book appointments. Due to the huge demand, city officials have proposed to use the OC Fairgrounds at a vaccine distribution site.

It has neither been confirmed nor denied yet but no other announcement of a different site to distribute the vaccine has been made.

According to Sara Cardine at the Daily Pilot, Mayor Katrina Foley stated at a virtual town hall meeting that the OC Fairgrounds are able to be used. “I know the cat’s already out of the bag that we’re going to eventually have a site at the fairgrounds,” she says.

The OC fairgrounds won’t be the only new vaccine distribution site, as 4 more sites are being planned around Orange County. NBC 4 wrote that OC supervisor Lisa Bartlett said the next vaccination site will be at Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo.

Currently, the OC Fairground is offering free testing. To get tested, you can book an appointment at othena.com. To find more information on Orange County vaccination endeavors, go to occovid19.ochealthinfo.com/covid-19-vaccine-resources.
