This past Thursday, January 23rd, Mesa hosted a middle school cross country race! Our CMMS team faced Sowers, Dwyer, Harbor Day, Ensign and our rival, Tewinkle.
The race started at 3:30 with the 7th grade girls, 4:45 with 7th grade boys, 4:00 for 8th grade girls, and lastly 4:15 for 8th grade boys.
The course is a mile and a half, starting at the track. Runners go around the track two times, and then they run out to the softball field. Next, they run around the softball field, around the basketball courts, and back to the track. They then run one more lap around the track, and finally, sprint to the finish line.
Congratulations to Kaden Kirsh and Jaylen Nichols for placing 1st in their divisions once again! Also, congrats to Maddy Stute and Zeno Piazza for placing in the top ten.
Great job to all of the other Mavericks that ran their hearts out, and pushed to their very limit to represent Mesa cross country. All Mesa runners had their best time of the season!
Support CMMS and come to the last race at Sowers on Thursday, January 30. Let’s fill the crowd with green and white!
