Costa Mesa Stampede over SANTIAGO!

Costa Mesa had their first game back from their bye week, and they finished the game right where they left off.

The Mustangs had their 6th game of the season at Garden Grove High School against Santiago High School. Costa Mesa wasted no time in scoring their first touchdown thanks to Gavin Garza. Mesa’s quarterback, Andrew Waiss, used his legs all game by having 2 rushing touchdowns in the first half of the game. Costa Mesa wouldn’t let Santiago score for the whole first half, and in addition, Gavin Garza ran for 2 more touchdowns. The halftime score was 35-0, with Costa Mesa up.

Costa Mesa came back out strong as they charged down the field. As they were close to the end zone, they gave the ball back to their most reliable guy, Gavin Garza. Gavin was able to get another touchdown, having 4 touchdowns and 226 rushing yards in the game. Santiago was able to score 2 touchdowns with minimal time left, leaving the final score as 42-14, with the Mustangs destroying the Cavaliers.
