2023 World Baseball Classic
Like the World Cup, every four years the World Baseball Classic is decided. Starting March 8th, the best players from 20 countries will compete in a tournament style competition for the WBC Champion title.
The 20 countries are divided into 4 groups of 5. Each team will play 4 games and the two teams that have the most points will move on to the quarter finals held in Tokyo and Miami from March 15-18. From there, it's a one game elimination, either win or get eliminated.
The two countries who come out on top at the quarter finals move onto the semifinals finals which are played in Miami from March 19-20. The team who comes out on top moves onto the WBC Final Championship game which is also being played in Miami on March 21st
The Countries Participating are
- Pool A: Chinese Taipei, Netherlands, Cuba, Italy, Panama March 8-13
- Pool B: Japan, Korea, Australia, China, Czech Republic March 9-13
- Pool C: United States, Mexico, Colombia, Canada, Great Britain March 11-15
- Pool D: Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Israel, Nicaragua March 11-15
The Tournament is being played in 4 different places. Pool A is playing at Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium (Taichung). Pool B is playing at Tokyo Dome (Tokyo). Pool C is playing at Chase Field (Phoenix). Pool D is playing at LoanDepot Park (Miami).
