Newport-Mesa Unified School District Teachers of the Year
Ms. Tamara Fairbanks
Ms. Fairbanks is a music teacher at Mariners Elementary School. She has been working in education for over 20 years and is infamous for supporting students past the required curriculum. She has also helped tremendously in the developtment of music festivals and workshops for the district.
Mrs. Daniela Ramos
Mrs. Ramos has been working with the NMUSD for 15 years and is now a kindergarten teacher at Davis Magnet School. She is also an active member of the Postive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) group. She continues to inspire and motivate her collegues and students around her.
Mrs. Colleen Tolles
For eight years, we have has the pleasure of having Ms. Tolles work in our school district. She is currently teaching at Ensign Intermediate as an English teacher. She also is the English deprartment chair and has an important role in Ensign's National Junior Honors Society. She feels strongly about providing students with a safe and fun learning atmosphere.
