The adrenaline rush of the NBA Playoffs has arrived, and the competition is on fire, especially for the Los Angeles Lakers and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
But who we really want to focus on is the man behind all the success of the Los Angeles Lakers this 2023-2024 season, Coach JJ Redick. From having a successful NBA career playing for the Orlando Magic, Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Dallas Mavericks, to becoming one of the greatest NBA franchises, he became the Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach.
Recently in Game 4, Coach JJ Redick has definitely made history that no other NBA coach has made during the playoffs. In the second quarter of Game 4, Redick decided to play his starting five players for the entire game, which were LeBron James, Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, and Dorian Finney-Smith.
A head coach doesn’t necessarily need to have years of coaching experience if he knows ball, which is perfect for Redick. There are numerous head coaches that had little experience with coaching, but end up being one of the best NBA head coaches ever.
Redick makes the Lakers move the ball and their bodies consistently on offense, and putting pressure when on defense. He also has the players getting more physical and coaching the players to make bold decisions within in the game.
Redick is one of the main reasons why the Lakers’ defense is so much better than last year. They learned how to consistently stop their opponents from scoring. And this year, the Lakers are more efficient because Redick is telling them to play, read, and react basketball.
Because of Redick, the Lakers position themselves in a better standing than the last season. He improved and developed the Lakers’ roster over and over again, and worked on their strengths and weaknesses for playoff season.
Even though the Lakers’ playoff season has come to an end, they still have next season to work even harder than this season, and hopefully make the playoffs once again with Coach JJ Redick by their side. So much appreciation is given to Coach Redick for helping the Lakers make a comeback this year, and hopefully Redick stays with the Lakers for more years to come.
