Mr. Gonzalez is a father and a history teacher at Costa Mesa High School. Not only that, he is also the head varsity football coach.
Most people see him as a strict person, but in reality he is a person who loves his students and players. Mr. Gonzalez tries his hardest for everyone to understand that he is just a person who has rules and regulations that he prefers to follow.
In order to find Mr. Gonzalez, you will need to head to his classroom that is upstairs in front of the clock tower. He will always be there from 7:00 am to 11:50 am. If he's not there, he will be with football from 11:50 am to 6:30pm.
As a teacher, Mr. Gonzalez wants all his students to know that being in football takes lots of time and dedication. He goes on to say, "Not only that, but it reveals how the players are, and how much pain they take just by practicing.’’ He wants everyone to understand that being in football is not as easy as it may seem.
He also wants everyone to know that “life is hard at times, but that doesn’t mean to quit, and when you do, you're just making life harder for yourself.”
He lastly wants everyone to know that “you have to live each day like it's your last because it will always be important no matter what.”
As the head varsity football coach, Mr. Gonzalez has to juggle being with his family, teaching history, and training the varsity football team all at once. His days are about 16-18 hours long each day. The only free time he will usually get is on the weekends.
Mr. Gonzalez chose to teach both history and football because he noticed that he could help provide structure to students who need it. He’s also doing it because he notices that he can make the youth do better than they think they can. Additionally, he does both jobs because he wants the youth to become strong, no matter if something tough is trying to bring them down.
