Battle of the Bell: Water Polo

On the first of October, the long-awaited Battle of the Bell between the Mustangs and the Eagles finally took place. This comes in the wake of an injury on September 28th when Eagle player Ryan broke his hand during a tournament. This was a significant loss for Estancia High School as Ryan is one of their best players. Both teams were very surprised with some of the Mustangs athletes wishing Ryan a quick recovery.

This year’s Battle of the Bell showdown took place at Estancia High School at 3:30PM and was absolutely one to see.

Leading up to the game, Estancia had played in three league games with 2 wins and one loss, while Costa Mesa had lost both league games. The respective scores were:

The Eagles led off strong in the first quarter, scoring 7 goals against the Mustangs.

Slowly throughout the game they grew this lead while the Mustangs scored 2 goals per quarter. The final score was 19-8, the Eagles winning the bell for the second year in a row. Kington Do represented the Mustangs, making the majority of the goals during this game.
