Twice, one of the most successful K-pop girl groups, came back with a new album called “Strategy” that was released December 6th. It consists of 7 new songs, and so far there has been almost 10 million streams since the release. Here's what to know!
Twice is a Korean pop girl group that consists of 9 members. They were formed into a group after competing in a survival group called “Sixteen.” The anniversary of their debut just passed on October 20th, making this their 9th year together! Their first album, “The Story Begins,” debuted at #2 on Oricon Albums Chart seven days after their release.
Their newest album, “Strategy,” sold over 50,000 copies on its first day of sales, making it the 2nd highest first day sales album. The title track, “Strategy,” is a very fun, upbeat song featuring Megan Thee Stallion, who actually flew to Korea to help contribute on the music video of the song.
Before release, the members of TWICE actually helped in creating the choreography for the song! The music video has 16 million views in just 7 days! Dahyun, a member of Twice, helped with writing the lyrics for one of the tracks on the album, “Keeper.”
The whole album is really sweet and fun. It has a mix of pop and R&B with a concept of love. My personal favorite from the album is “Like it Like it.” The members had revealed that it was supposed to be the title track of the album, but later on decided “Strategy” would be a better fit and would be more popular. I would highly recommend listening to the whole album since it has some really catchy melodies and over all is a good album.
