Atlanta Braves Shock the World

This year’s World Series presented what seemed to be a lopsided matchup as underdogs Atlanta Braves looked to break an Atlanta sports curse and finish the job.

Their opponent was a very hungry Houston lineup that sought after a championship with a greater purpose of silencing their haters - and proving they could win without cheating.

These teams had very different entrances into the postseason.

Houston won their division going 95-67 on the year, proceeding to blow out Chicago in the first round, and outplaying Boston in the Championship Series.

The Braves, on the other hand, were projected at a .03 percent chance of winning the World Series in July, carrying themselves with an injury-riddled roster struggling to stay above .500.

However, they took care of business, winning their division with 88 wins, which was enough in a very weak NL East division.

The Braves took down the Brewers in the first round, upsetting the reigning World Champion Dodgers and setting up a date with destiny.

Beating Houston in 6 games, riding off of unforgettable offensive performances as well as timely pitching, allowed Atlanta to prove the theory of the team - more luck in the playoffs having the advantage.

An outmatched roster proved to be no problem for Atlanta, and now they get to celebrate in the promised land once again.
